What is the SNAG® Coaching System?
SNAG®’s modified golf teaching system integrates specially designed equipment and an instructional manual that teaches all aspects of the game: physical, mental and emotional. The entire system is portable to set up for teaching indoors or out. Each lesson in the coaching system consists of 60 minutes worth of instruction divided into four stations. We recommend additional time for play!

The SNAG Word Cues:
Left on yellow™, CONNECT™ RIGHT ON RED™
SNAG® utilizes specific word cues to simplify the learning process and help students remember key concepts and techniques. These cues are integral to the SNAG® coaching system, providing clear, concise instructions that make it easier for beginners to understand and execute golf skills. For example, the cue "Tick-Tock" is used to describe the pendulum-like motion of the swing, helping students visualize and perform the correct movement. "Y to L" guides the proper positioning of the arms and club during the swing, starting with the arms forming a "Y" shape and transitioning to an "L" shape.
By incorporating these word cues, coaches can provide consistent and straightforward instructions that reinforce proper techniques. This method enhances comprehension and retention, making the learning experience more effective and enjoyable for students. Word cues also facilitate quick corrections and self-assessment, enabling learners to make adjustments on the fly.
Setting Up SNAG® Learning Environments
Ensuring a safe learning environment is paramount in SNAG®. Coaches must ensure the teaching area is free from obstacles and hazards. Safety protocols should be clearly explained to all students before starting the session to prevent accidents and ensure everyone understands the importance of maintaining a safe space.
Proper setup is also crucial for an effective lesson. Coaches should arrange targets and stations according to the lesson plan, making sure each station is well-defined and spaced appropriately to avoid interference. Regular equipment checks are essential; all SNAG® equipment should be in good condition, with any damaged items replaced immediately. This careful preparation helps create a structured, safe, and productive learning environment, allowing students to focus on developing their skills.
Teaching Techniques:
At SNAG®, our coaching system is built on a progressive learning model designed to develop golf skills incrementally. Our curriculum starts with basic concepts and gradually introduces more complex skills, ensuring a solid foundation for all learners. Coaches begin by demonstrating each technique clearly, using simple language and visual aids to enhance understanding. This methodical approach allows students to grasp the fundamentals before moving on to more advanced techniques.
To make learning engaging and effective, our coaches incorporate interactive drills and games that encourage active participation. This hands-on learning style not only helps students practice their skills but also makes the learning process enjoyable and fun. By progressively building on each skill and maintaining a focus on interactive and visual learning, SNAG® ensures that students not only learn the game but also develop a lifelong love for it.
