A Comprehensive Curriculum for Success

The SNAG® curriculum is designed to provide a structured, programmatic approach to teaching golf, making it an excellent resource for education professionals. This curriculum is meticulously developed to guide students through progressive learning stages, starting with basic skills and gradually advancing to more complex techniques. Each lesson plan includes clear objectives, step-by-step instructions, and visual aids, ensuring that teachers can deliver effective and engaging sessions. The program also incorporates distinct stations for specific tasks—rolling, chipping, pitching, and launching—each marked by different colors, allowing for organized and efficient instruction. This systematic approach not only simplifies the teaching process but also ensures consistent student progress, fostering both skill development and enthusiasm for the game. With SNAG®'s programmatic curriculum, educators can confidently implement a comprehensive, effective, and enjoyable golf education program.

Meeting Today’s Physical Education Needs

SNAG® is a modified golf program designed to be a vital part of the physical education curriculum. Its benefits extend far beyond physical activity, making it an invaluable tool for education professionals. SNAG®'s innovative design and adaptability not only simplify the teaching of golf fundamentals but also seamlessly integrate into academic instruction. By using SNAG®, educators can effectively teach math, physics, and other subjects through engaging, hands-on activities. Additionally, SNAG® supports the development of essential life skills such as teamwork, communication, and perseverance, which are often overlooked in today's educational system. This holistic approach makes SNAG® an exceptional resource for fostering both cognitive and personal growth in students.

Structured Stations for Effective Learning

SNAG® is an ideal tool for education professionals aiming to teach large groups of students during physical education classes. The system allows for the division of students into four stations, each focused on specific tasks such as rolling, chipping, pitching, and launching, marked by distinct colors (blue, green, yellow, red). This structured, rotational approach ensures safe distances between students using markers or lines, and assigns up to eight students per station, rotating them every ten minutes with recommended additional time for play. Teachers circulate between stations, utilizing word cues to guide and engage students, ensuring everyone progresses effectively. This method maximizes learning, keeps students focused, and makes physical education both fun and efficient.

Bridging Physical and Cognitive Learning

SNAG® Golf seamlessly integrates academic learning with physical education, making it an invaluable tool for educators. By incorporating SNAG® into the curriculum, teachers can create engaging, hands-on activities that teach academic concepts such as math, physics, and geometry. For example, students can learn about angles and trajectories while practicing their swings, or apply math skills to keep score and calculate distances. This innovative approach not only reinforces classroom learning but also makes abstract concepts more tangible and understandable. Moreover, SNAG®'s emphasis on teamwork and communication further enriches students' educational experiences, fostering essential life skills alongside academic growth. By bridging the gap between physical activity and cognitive learning, SNAG® Golf provides a comprehensive educational experience that benefits students in multiple ways.

Golf In Our Schools

It has been said that the game of golf is a parallel of life itself. The sport, more than any other, truly reflects the well known adage, “It’s not whether you win or lose. It's how you play the game.

Golf’s dependence on the integrity of the individual is responsible for solidifying the character of the millions who have played it. Unfortunately, this character-building sport has rarely, if ever, been effectively offered as a curriculum option in the world’s school programs. Until now.

Developed by former PGA Tour players Terry Anton and Wally Armstrong, SNAG® provides an excellent entrée for kids into the game of golf, beginning at the earliest stages of the educational system. The SNAG® curriculum, incorporates the teaching of all-important academic parallels and life skills that will not only make better students, but better human beings and more solid citizens.

The coaching system also allows you to incorporate the playing side of the game. It is an excellent program for juniors that integrate the rules of golf and personal life skills.

Incorporating Physical Education Goals:

SNAG® coaches can enhance students' holistic development by integrating SNAG® lessons with broader physical education goals such as fitness, coordination, and teamwork. By focusing on these areas, SNAG® lessons not only teach golf skills but also promote overall physical health, improve motor skills, and foster a sense of teamwork and cooperation among students.

Moreover, SNAG® activities can be connected to other academic subjects to create cross-curricular links. For instance, math concepts can be incorporated through scoring systems and calculating angles for shots, while science principles can be explored through the physics of ball flight and the effects of force and motion. These connections make learning more engaging and relevant, demonstrating the practical applications of classroom knowledge in a fun and interactive way.
